What is a dental implant?

What is a dental implant?

A dental implant is a cylinder-shaped titanium abutment that is placed at bone level and replaces a dental root. This material is completely biocompatible and accepted by the human body, so there is no documented rejection.

How do I know if I am a candidate for dental implants?

Dental implants are indicated for patients 16 years of age and older. There are some contraindications such as patients with immunodeficiencies as well as systemic conditions that complicate osseointegration or facilitate infection. For more specific questions, it is recommended to make an appointment for surgeons to evaluate your case.

Do dental implants work?

Of course they work. In fact, it is one of the procedures with the highest percentage of success, according to scientifically endorsed studies. However, it is vitally important that whoever implants you be an implant specialist as there are many weekend courses that "endorse" dentists for implant placement but this is obviously not sufficient preparation. At Dental Integral Baena we are specialists in prosthetics and implantology, which is why we offer you comprehensive treatment of both implant placement and rehabilitation.
